The Honda CBR1000RR, commonly known as the Fireblade in certain markets, is a significant entry in the superbike category, featuring a 999 cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine. Introduced in 2003, it marked the seventh generation of Honda's CBR series, which originated with the CBR900RR in 1990.
This model benefited from advancements made by the same team responsible for MotoGP developments. The CBR1000RR incorporated numerous innovative technologies first seen in the CBR600RR, such as an extended swingarm, Unit Pro-Link rear suspension, and a Dual Stage Fuel Injection System (DSFI).
The CBR1000RR (SC57) served as the successor to the 2002 CBR954RR. In this evolution, Honda took a bold approach, creating an entirely new engine rather than carrying over components from its predecessor. The upgraded 998 cc inline four engine features different bore and stroke specifications, a race-inspired cassette-type six-speed gearbox, an ECU-controlled ram-air system, dual-stage fuel injection, and a center-up exhaust equipped with a computer-controlled butterfly valve.
A notable redesign is evident in the engine's structure; Honda shifted away from the conventional inline layout. The crankshaft was uniquely positioned in a triangulated formation, with the countershaft situated below the main shaft. This configuration not only shortened the overall engine length but also repositioned the swingarm pivot closer to the crankshaft—enhancing stability and handling.
The CBR1000RR earned recognition within the motorcycling community, being awarded Cycle World’s International Bike of the Year for 2008-09. The accolades continued with the 2009 model winning Motorcycle USA’s Best Sportbike of the Year and dominating the over 750 cc open sportbike class in 2008. Additionally, the 2012 version claimed victory in several comparative reviews conducted by Cycle World and Motorcycle USA regarding street and track performance. It is also noteworthy that various teams have secured triumph at the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race nine times between 2003 and 2014.
For enthusiasts looking to personalize their devices, selecting a wallpaper featuring the Honda CBR1000RR can enhance any phone's aesthetic. Feedback regarding wallpaper selections is always appreciated.
